Salsation Latin Dance Co.
Salsation....it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out ( salsa + sensation = salsation)..... O.K., maybe a math degree from grade school. Where did we start? This all started in Montreal in November of 2000. Two cool cats by the names of Chester Moran and Orville Small opened up a school for Latin dance about a year into being 'bit by the bug'. Although they taught meringue and batchata, salsa and rueda were their main focus in terms of teaching. In November, 2001, Orville Small moved to Toronto to further his accomplishments while Chester kept the school in Montreal. From there, Orville opened up the second school for Salsation Latin Dance Co.
Since opening both schools to the public, Salsation has communicated their love and passion for Latin dance. They have also been involved in a numerous amount of events throughout its existence. Although competing is their main personal focus, they have captivated audiences with their high energy performances at weddings, festivals, fashion shows, nightclubs, salsa gatherings and boat cruises across eastern Canada. Salsation has also given workshops from club to university dance students (York University and U of T) as well as broadening their horizons by touching the movie (as dancers and choreographers), music video (as dancers) and salsa congress scene.
