Dave began ballroom dancing in 1995 in Ridgeland, MS, and has taken lessons from many instructors in the Jackson area as around the country at various dance workshops. He began teaching in 2002 and recently completed a course in salsa instruction given by world famous salsa dancer and instructor Josie Neglia. He is now more qualified than ever before to provide you with instruction in the exciting dance of L.A. style salsa.

Q: Can I Learn To Dance?
A: Yes! We have developed a curriculum that will have you dancing in no time. It has proven to be successful not only in teaching people how to dance, but also in giving them the added confidence they need in just a few fun and easy lessons.
Q: Do I Need A Partner?
A: No! In our classes we rotate partners and so that everyone gets a chance to dance, both with other students and with the instructors. If you come with a partner, we do not insist you rotate, but strongly recommend it as we have found it advantageous to dance with multiple partners.
Q: What Do I Wear To Class?
A: There is no specific dress code. Just wear something comfortable. This is particularly important when it comes to shoes. It is important that you wear shoes with smooth soles. For ladies, make sure you wear shoes that are flexible and provide good ankle support. Flip-flops or similar shoes or sandals without good heel control and most sneakers (rubber soles) are difficult to dance in.
Q: Private or Group Lessons?
A: One can generally learn how to dance more quickly by taking private lessons. With only one student or a couple in class, you get the undivided attention of the instructor, so that the instruction is geared toward your needs alone. However, one of the keys to learning any skill such as dancing is a structured practice, which you will get in a group class at lower cost.
Q: How Do I Schedule A Private Lesson?
A: If you're interested in taking private lessons, Simply call or email us to set up a time and date for your lesson.
Q: Where Are Private Lessons Held?
A: Private lessons can be held at the Applause Dance Factory, or another location of your choosing. There may be an additional charge for studio space or travel at some locations.
Q: What Other Dances Do You Teach?
A: In addition to salsa, Dave also teaches other latin dances such as cha cha and rumba, swing dances including east coast swing, west coast swing, hustle and night club two step, other ballroom dances like waltz and foxtrot, and country western two step.
Q: How Do I Book You For An Event? What is The Charge?
A: If you are looking to spice up your event by including dance instruction, a performance, or even choreography and instruction for you to perform for your guests, Dave and a partner are available for weddings, corporate events, private parties, clubs, films, dance exhibitions and house parties. The cost to you will depend on several factors, such as what type of event it is, the number of people involved, how far the location is, etc. If you plan to book us for an event, please contact us well in advance, so as to ensure our availability and discuss the details.
