Adam Jay - Pole Dancing Lessons

Class Information: Pole Dancing sessions will include the following areas of:

Pole Moves - Using the pole to bring together routines with moves such as the Fireman, Back Hook Spin, Crouch Spin, Split Leg V, Sun Wheel and Seated Spin. Add them together with the following areas forms an eye catching routine!!

Walking - Walking and eye contact are grouped together because strong eye contact and good body posture both exhibit confidence and show the world exactly how you feel about yourself. It can establish an air of confidence and can help set the tone for the beginning of the dance. Remember, nobody walks the same. Be who you are and not like anyone else!

Eye Contact - Walk to the mirror with confidence, maintain eye contact with yourself and focus on what you like about yourself: your eyes, smile or your walk. Also think positive thoughts! Strong focused eye contact inspires confidence, projects your intentions and connects you with others.

Basic Transitional Movements - Using transitional movements brings together core moves and forms a fluid routine.

Using your hands - Your hands are a vital and expressive form of body language. The hands are used to draw the attention to that particular body part of which is being traced.

Tracing your lines - This movement is to ensure that the moves flow into each other. Tracing body parts such as the centre of your stomach, your face, neck and the sides of your body comes across as subtle but powerful.

Head toss - Incorporate the head toss throughout the whole of your routine. Pay close attention to the strength of your movement - a slow head toss comes across sensual; a faster one expresses a dominant mood.

Floorwork - Floorwork is essentially a series of poses connected by transitional moves, and is usually considered to be the most sensual part of exotic dancing. Slow stretching on the floor can be incredibly sexy if you do it with purpose and good posture. There are at least three ways to get down to the floor. Use a prop (The Pole), try a modified move, using your hands to guide you to the floor, or slide from the kneeling hip roll directly to a sitting position.

Accentuating Moves - Striking a pose, stretching, gazing at your own body, hooking and grabbing and playing slowly with your hair helps to accentuate the moves in a positive and powerful way.
