Home FAQsQ: Do I need a partner?
A: No, we make sure all Salsa Dance classes have the right balance of leads and follows. In fact, you may even be dancing with one of our Assistant Coaches! We also rotate partners throughout the class, allowing you the chance to meet and dance with all your classmates.
Q: What should I wear?
A: Wear comfortable street shoes/runners and comfortable casual clothing.
Q: If I miss a class, can I get a refund?
A: Unfortunately, no. But you may be able to apply the credit to an upcoming session. Please email Davin about this with at least 7 days notice.
Q: I've taken Salsa lessons at another school before and I want to take Salsa lessons with Salsa For Charity. Which course is for me?
A: The best thing to do is to register online and to attend either the Monday or Wednesday class at 10pm. At that time, we'll watch you and determine which level you belong in. You're also welcome to stay for the social dancing which runs from 10pm-onwards (the cost for all this is $5).
Q: My schedule is hectic but I still want to drop-in whenever I can. Do I need to register?
A: Yes, please register online and leave a note stating that you want to be in the drop-in program. After that, please send in the $20 deposit and you're set!
Q: The newest courses have already started. Should I start now or wait until the next session before I join?
A: For Levels 1, 2 and 3 students: In weeks 1 to 3, we suggest starting right away because it is still early enough for the typical student to catch up. In addition to that, you also have the option of attending both the Monday and Wednesday classes. At the end of this you will have gotten the same exposure as the student that was in the course from week 1. After week 3, we suggest waiting until the next course starts. New courses start about every 10 weeks.
For Levels 4+ students, we suggest starting right away since many of the classes are specialized workshops allowing students to work on their own specific opportunities for improvement. In short, register right away, make the deposit, and go to class ASAP.
Q: I have friends who want to join the class late. Can I still bring them to class?
A: Yes, please register them online, and make the payment by check right away. If there isn't enough time, then bring them to class and we will try to fit them in.
Q: I've already registered for the course and made the payment. What do I do now?
A: You're set. Congratulations and welcome to wonderful world of Salsa! Show up to class on time ready and willing.
Q: How much of the money goes to Charity?
A: 100% of the fees for special events and parties go to charity. 50% of the fees for Level 1 Adult Salsa Dance Classes go to charity. 10% of fees for all other Salsa Dance Classes go to charity. 10% of show / performance fees go to charity.
