The Danz Studio, formerly known as Danz Dimensions, was first opened in 1989 and only offered one class, an award winning competition team for middle school students. Since then it has expanded to more than a dozen classes for ages 3 and up. In 2004, we moved into a newly remodeled and spacious studio located on the second floor at 98 South Main in Gunnison. All classes are taught by an instructor with 30+ years of teaching experience with small classes for individual attention.

The Danz Studio in Gunnison, UT (also known as TDS) offers classes in Classical Ballet & Pointe, Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap and Acrobatic Arts for ages 3 and up. The students are taught correct technique and vocabulary in a fun environment. All dancers are given the opportunity to perform and compete at dance competitions.

COMPETITION & PERFORMANCE CLASSES:
Mini Competition - 1st, 2nd & 3rd grades
Lyrical Competition - 4th grade & up
A Company - 5th grade and up

PERFORMANCE CLASSES: competitions not required but encouraged
Classical Ballet:
PreBallet - 1st, 2nd & 3rd grades
Ballet I to IV - 3rd grade and Up
Pointe - 6th grade & up

Jazz and Tap combo:
Little Company Pre, K & 1st grades

Jazz:
C Company - 2nd, 3rd & 4th grades
B Company - 5th grade & up

Hip Hop:
Hip Hop - 3rd grade & Up

Level 0-2

Q. Are students required to compete?
A. A few of our classes are required to go to competitions. Our competitions do not require any more time than a regular performance. The students arrive 60 minutes before their performance time and can leave as soon as they are done. All students are given the chance to compete but you may choose not to. The studio attends 4 IN-state competitions a year.

Q. What are the students required to wear to classes?
A.
Younger class can wear anything they can move freely in.

Hip Hop can wear any kind of dance clothes and dance sneakers.

Company classes are required to wear black dance pants/shorts to practices and will need tan dance shoes.

Classical Ballet classes
*Girls must wear pink leather slippers, light pink tights and any color leotard (Skirts optional for center work) and hair pulled back.
*Boys - white shirt, black pants or shorts and black dance slippers.

ACRO/technique - Tight leggings or shorts over a leotard. Hair must be in a low bun and no shoes. Bare feet or socks, please.


Q. Where can I get dance clothes and shoes?
A. The studio can order them for you plus we have a selection of leotards, tights, skirts, dance pants, studio shirts, jackets and backpacks as well as new and used shoes in the office. If shopping online, I like to use Discount Dance Supply.

Directions/Parking Information:
The studio is located upstairs in the corner building on Main and 100 South. Parking is available on the south side of the building. The entrance is the blue door located between the Quilt shop and the historic Casino Star Theatre.
